The story

When the whole of Eden sings

For the 308th Prague derby, SK Slavia Praha wanted something Eden had never seen before: live music for the pre-match show right on the pitch, built on the anthems every Slavia fan knows by heart. We took to the pitch with DJ Bury, saxophonist Nikisaxi and violinist Iska.muse.

Then the first notes sounded and the saxophone and violin filled the whole of Eden. A few bars in, the North Stand joined in, followed by the entire stadium. More than 19,000 people were singing with us and we had shivers down our spines. Moments like this are exactly why we do this job.

How it worked

How the saxophone and violin sounded at the derby

The show was built on a DJ set. DJ Bury provided the musical backing, while saxophonist Nikisaxi and violinist Iska.muse played live right into his set. This combination of a DJ and live instruments is the heart of every BURYSAX show.

We prepared a tailor-made repertoire: Slavia anthems the fans know by heart, arranged for DJ, saxophone and violin. In an open-air stadium the sound has to reach the top rows of the stands. The saxophone and violin therefore had wireless instrument microphones, and both musicians played with in-ear monitors so they could hear themselves over the crowd. This let them move freely around the pitch and play towards the stands.
